A short video of Joshua

Here is a short video of Joshua. He is very healthy and starting to adapt to a schedule - well, kind of. Mom is doing better (though tired). What on earth did we do with all of our free time before Joshua came along?

Four weeks old

Joshua is now four weeks old. We have been taking pictures all along and decided to put up a photo album of his first month. Here it is:

Take Out

We got Costa Vida Take Out for dinner today. Before we had our child, I never understood why anyone would ever get take out. You lose all of the restaurant atmosphere and by the time you get the food home it's cold. It didn't seem like there was anything fun about it and it just seemed silly to me.

Today I understood.

Joshua was sleeping and we had maybe 45 minutes before he woke up. We were both starving and really wanted Costa Vida. We couldn't risk putting him in the car seat and going to the restaurant since he might wake up while we were there. Take Out saved us. Otherwise we would have had to wait about two hours before we could eat.

Take Out makes so much sense now!

Alta Ski Trip

I went to Alta last Saturday with my friends. Jason and Kali flew up from LA and they, along with Dan, Van, and I, went up for a full day of skiing at Alta in Salt Lake City. There was one very memorable run where I skied down some very deep powder on a bowl that is only open when there is enough snow. I've always struggled with powder since I wasn't skiing in it right. But I learned how to do it by watching Van and it was amazing.
Rachel was super nice to let me take off for the day with a two week old newborn in the house. That night my parents came over to watch Joshua while we all went out to Bombay House for Indian food.
Here are a bunch of pictures:

New Baby Pictures

Turn up the volume on your speakers and play the video above. You'll hear Joshua when he's one day old making a cute whimpering sound.

Joshua is now five days old. We broke his photos up into a few sections: Labor, First Hour of Life, Parents and Baby, Visitors, and Bringing Home Baby. These last few days have been quite a ride as we figure out how to adjust our schedule to meet feeding, alert time, and sleeping. I've gotten really good at changing diapers! I hope you enjoy these photos of Joshua.

See the photos here:

Rachel and I have both noticed that our house feels so much more like a "home" now that he is here. We're so blessed.
