Gender Confusion

Someone called Joshua a SHE the other day. I'm not offended or anything because I know there are a lot of babies out there who simply don't look extremely "girly" or "manly", but I always thought Joshua looked like an obviously MALE.

What do you think? Wait. Maybe that is a stupid question. I mean, who is really going to outright tell me "Hey, I've been meaning to tell you, your so called "boy" really looks like a girl". Then again, maybe I'll be surprised.

IF he does in fact look more female than I've always thought, (which wouldn't be too unbelievable because a mom's eyes can be deceiving) as long as he doesn't look like one of those boys who is mistaken for a girl by the time he reaches his teen years (and all I have to say to those people is I'm oh so sorry), I'm AOK.

By the way, I really like parenthesis (which you have probably figured out if you have read any of my previous blogs).

Rachel, HE's soooo cute! And no, I don't think he looks like a girl from what pictures I've seen. But I haven't seen him in person yet sooo....;) He does have lovely long eyelashes, so that might throw people off a bit. Oh, and thanks for commenting on my blog!

He does have very pretty eyes....but by no means "girly" ones! I think people really are just oblivious all together.I can have Lo painted in pink from head to toe and peole still look at me and ask...

"How old is HE?"

DUH!!!!

Wow, wow, wow! Your son is ADORABLE! I'm so glad that you found my blog so that we could get reconnected.

In reference to this post, I think all moms have this problem with their babies at some point or another.

I remember that the worst instance was when Jane (our oldest) (I love parenthesis as well :) ) was a baby, probably 4 months old. We were at an outdoor event and it was night so it was a little bit cooler so I had Jane in a normal girly outfit with a pink hat and a pink blanket wrapped around her and someone thought she was a boy and that her name was James (instead of Jane)...I couldn't believe it!

Now that my girls have hair I don't have that problem, but when your kids are babies it can be hard for strangers to tell.

It's okay! I have 2 girls with bows in their hair at all times and wearing pretty much nothing but pink and skirts and yet when they see Brock, wearing blue or brown or red, they still ask me if it is a boy or girl!!!
I feel your pain, people are just stupid!
