Tag, You're It!

So one of my wonderful, soon to have two babies 14 months and under (yikes!), friends tagged me. Finally, some kind of recognition that I really do exist! Well, ok. So my self esteem is a bit better than that, but it still feels pretty good to be tagged for once :)

While I am one to plan way in the future for some things, I don't plan for other things at all, like things that actually really matter. Hence, the following list is a little sparse, but I tried...

In 6 months I will be:

Hopefully in France visiting family. I'll be pretty much the same but a little older.

In 1 year I will be:

Maybe pregnant. We'll see!

In 5 years I will be:

A mom of kids instead of a kid. Probably living in the same place and doing a lot of the same things. Hopefully I'll finally know a lot more of my neighbors by this time.

In 10 years I will be:

I'd like to go back to get my Masters or Doctorate, but we'll see what James says about that and how old our kids (hopefully all here) are then. Once again, probably still living where I live now and doing a lot of the same old things. But I like the "same old thing", so I'm not complaining.

I will be 70 years old on my GOLDEN Anniversary and will:

Still be laughing, joking, walking, in control of all bodily functions, and holding my sweet husband's hand each day and loving him more than I did when we got married. I'd love to have a bunch of grandkids to spoil and some great kids of my own that have grown up well and become good, temple worthy adults.

Oh, and Mecham, you're tagged.

Isn't He a Little Old For This?

When Joshua was in the swing the other day I thought I'd take a picture to compare him to when he was only a few days old.

Whoa he has grown. Wasn't that like just last week?! I know he's getting a little old for the swing, but he still loves it so much and, I have to admit, it is a pretty good babysitter at times. Did I just say that out loud? Now I would never...

As you can see from this picture James and I, being new clueless parents, hadn't yet figured out that the head rest lowered, so poor little Joshua is striving with all his might to not topple sideways. Oops!

So Much for Being a Cool Mom

James told me the other day that it there is a new trend in Junior High/High School where you send someone in facebook an invite to "be in a relationship" with you if you want to go out with them, and if they accept then you are now officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Besides this being totally weird, but, let's admit, a somewhat convenient way to get past the "where is our relationship" talk, I can't believe that I am so out of the loop with what's happening so much already when I haven't even been out of High School for 10 years. Man, I'm going to be a total idiot when my kids are teenagers. So much for being the "hip" and "in the times" mom.

It's Pull Up Time

This is how I found Joshua when I got him up from his nap earlier on today. Now he won't stop pulling himself up on everything. I guess it's crib lower'n time!

Oh, and isn't he so cute! He'll be able to dazzle the girls with those big blue eyes when he gets older...much older.

Mommy Hair

OK, so I know this is kind of a weird picture, but I just wanted to show how interesting my hair has gotten since I had Joshua. If you look closely, you'll notice in the top right corner of the photo I have tons of short little hairs that are pointing straight up in the air. They are driving me crazy. I can't get them to settle down. It's like they're possessed or something.

Along with this, I've lost about half of my hair. If this doesn't stop soon I'll be bald by the end of the year. Good thing I started out with really thick hair or I may have had to start looking into hair transplants already. A bald woman is a no go for me. Definitely not an option. I love Joshua and all, but I sure wish he came along with a nicer body and better looking hair rather than the other way around!
