I got one of the make you feel guilty letters in the mail today. As if I didn't have enough to feel guilty about. I mean, I haven't even planned out what I'm going to make for dinner tonight and in mormon standards, I may not make it to heaven at this point.

Anywho... this particular day I got those St. Jude stickers. You know the ones with your address label and a cute picture drawn by a sick, dying kid {guilt, guilt, guilt}. And then it talks about how donations from people like you have helped the death rate from childhood cancers decrease {guilt, guilt, guilt} So now pretty much if I don't donate I'll single handedly be responsible for the death of some child dying of cancer...

Don't' you feel guilty now too?

What if you don't donate? Can you still use those cute address labels they send you? I mean, they're already made and throwing them out would just be wasteful, right? It's not like you asked for them to send you these to you in the first place. Hmmm...

I don't think I could use them anyway. Donation or not. In my new found emotional mommy state I'd probably start crying every time I put one on an envelope just thinking about those poor kids. Lame but true.

"Live Long and Prosper"

I decided to cut Joshua's hair the other day. I didn't have much of a choice. He was starting to look like a girl. I studied up on the process before hand and everything. Unfortunatley this wasn't enough to prevent him from looking like a Vulcan (with a bad hair cut) once I was through with him.

I was only planning on cutting a little bit of his bangs off. Really I was. It's just that I'd notice that his bangs weren't straight and I'd try to fix it and before I knew it he had like 2 inches off of them. In the end he was left with crooked bangs anyway so I should have just stopped cutting before it got out of control.

So now we've implemented the bang swoop. Sorry Joshua, it's just the only way of making you not look like a Vulcan. Mommy's sorry. So sorry.

Pretty Please...

Dear blogger

I'd like to have spellcheck available when I leave a comment on a post. I don't want people to realize that I really can't spell that well and I certainly don't want to keep going back and forth to microsoft word to see if words are spelled correctly. Also, is there a reason you haven't had the common sense to do this already?

Yours truly

Ewww, Gross!

Joshua threw up for the first time today. Is that baby bookable? Anywho...since we are home about 95% of the time he of course decided to throw up the other 5% of the time while we were in Walmart. What great timing my little boy has. He didn't just throw up either, he THREW UP. It was all over me, him and the floor. I guess I'm actually really lucky he didn't throw up into the cart. That would have been too nasty to even imagine. I probably would have thrown up right there with him.

I do have to say that this experience made me pretty impressed with the human race which, unfortunately, is often pretty unimpressive. I was in line at the check out when this happened and the nice old lady behind me went and got someone to clean up the mess all over the floor and a lady an isle over came over and gave me a bunch of wipes. See, what did I tell you. Pretty dang impressive. I could have given those people a kiss! Well, fine, maybe just a hug. I don't think they would have liked that though, vomit and all.

See Yah!

We've had tons of fun the last couple weeks hanging out with Noah and Lucia. The boys loved playing with each other. Lucia and I literally would sit and do a puzzle while the boys played. It was awesome! Too bad we don't live by each other or we could do this everyday. Though I guess we'd have to feed the boys every once in a while ;)

We caught them once even "reading" a book together. Too cute!

Here Joshua is showing off to Noah his art of toy playing.

Unfortunately Lucia and Noah just went back to Arizona so we won't be seeing them for a while (though I'm sure Joe will be happy to see his family again poor guy!). We'll miss you guys.

Why Didn't I Think of This Before?

I went to for the first time today and Oh Baby Oh Baby. A veil has been lifted from my eyes. The sun has set on the dawn of a new day.

James is out of town for a few days. Let's see how much damage I can do before he gets home.

The Unfairness of Business Travel

Business travel is a funny thing. You are generally expected to be available for work during "core" hours, 10am - 4pm. However, when you travel for work there also seems to be an expectation that you will be doing your travelling outside of these hours. If you count the time you are travelling as "work", then you're pretty much pulling a 12-16 hour day. But even if you have to get an evening flight and you don't end up getting to your hotel, or home, until after midnight, you're still expected to be working the following morning. Very strange.

It's Birthday Time!

A little bit of this (aren't you all so proud of me for making this)....

And a little bit of this...

Equals this. Apparently Joshua loves chocolate! He didn't hesitate to devour his cake and make a big mess while at it of course. Someone mentioned to me yesterday how their grandson started crying when he got his cake all over because he didn't like feeling messy. Weird huh? He is definitely the opposite of my boy! Joshua would have the time of his life running around naked and covered head to toe with food or whatever else he could get his hands on. In fact, he's never even cared about having a dirty or wet diaper.

We of course opened up some presents. Thanks everyone! Joshua actually did a pretty good job of taking off the wrapping paper. Of course, I'm pretty sure that was just because he wanted to either eat it or crinkle it. Eventually (after we threw away the wrapping paper) he did notice his new presents and was really excited.

New Year's Resolutions

I didn't make any. I figured there was the same likelihood of me following through with them as there was of me becoming the next president of the United States, so why set myself up for failure? Some may say I'm lazy, but I'd like to think that I'm simply practical.

Finally...Season's Greatings!

This Christmas was the busiest yet! We did tons of fun stuff like made gingerbread houses...

Dressed up like a reindeer and pushed chairs around (since no sleighs were available)...

Hanged out with grandpa...

Opened up some presents...

Went to Rachels brother's wedding in the SLC temple (way to go Sam and Michelle!)...

Then to a reception in Willard (yeah, we hadn't heard of it either before this)...

Then had an open house at our home. We had all of Rachel's family in town which was awesome. Somehow we still managed to find enough time to eat so much that we're afraid to get on the scale.

And one day later...

Good thing we've got this. It's called a snoblade (on the left side). It's seriously the coolest thing ever. When James' parents gave it to us I was like "thanks" {hmm, very interesting...} but now I'm like "THANKS" {this freak'n rocks}.

Holy Snow Batman!

And it's still dropping from the sky....
