Sure, he looks all innocent, but just you wait until his mom tries to give him a bottle/sippy cup of milk. All heck breaks loose. He doesn't just cry either, he goes berserk. He starts thrashing his body around like he's possessed and will carry on like this until I take the milk out of his site. Then he'll start attacking his poor mama (you nursing moms know what I mean :) And it doesn't stop here. He's suddenly clinging to me like his life depends on it all day long.

I just don't get it. For someone who acted like he couldn't care less about nursing he sure is putting up a fight. Apparently he does care about it... ALOT. Who would have thought.

If this is how my supposed I could care less about it son is acting I can't imagine how it is for those babies who are obsessed with nursing. You know, those ones that still eat like 10 times a day at 10 months and don't quit until they're like 2 years old... or later. I have to admit that I've always thought that the idea of nursing a 2 year old was a little insane (don't get made people, I'm simply being honest). I'm not sure why. I don't think I have a good reason for feeling this way, just a bunch of ones that probably aren't true and simply are based on cultural views and stuff. Bad I know. I should be better than that. I guess it doesn't seem as weird as it used to be since I nursed Joshua past the 11 month 30 day mark which is when it seems to go from "Oh, great! You made it to a year!" to "You mean you're still nursing?" {worried frown} That said, I'm pretty sure you'll never see me nursing a two year old, or even an 18 month old. Plus, I'm beginning to like my new found freedom. I couldn't see myself waiting like 2 years for this "freedom" with my future kids.

Hug hug, kiss kiss, hug hug, big kiss, little hug, kiss kiss, little kiss

Hmmm...I have no comment because I have never nursed a child. I will not make a judgment or suggestion here. But I will say, that you are a wonderful mother so just keep that up! :) Love you!

That is so funny. You know, from the outside. If I were on the inside, I doubt I would find it funny. But from here, hilarious.

I agree with you! The idea of nursing a two year old does seem insane to me! (Though I know that some women think it is just fine and everyone has their own ideas.) Anyways, good luck with Joshua and don't worry you have plenty of time before he turns two!

I agree with the one year nursing thing. That seems to be about the right amount of time. When a baby is old enough to ask you to nurse, it seems like it would be a little bit weird. Fine for some people, maybe, but I couldn't handle it.
