Our Poor Attempt to Get Out of the Cold...

I was soooo sick of the cold Utah weather that I mentioned to James that he needed to find an excuse to go to warm California for work so that we could go along for practically free. James figured he probably should go train some guys in San Francisco anyway so that's where we headed. Of course, if I had known that it was going to rain everyday, all day, while down there I may have suggested somewhere else. Apparently it is always rainy in SF. I must have missed the memo.

It was still a lot of fun though. We even ended up staying the weekend so that the three of us could have some extra fun together outside of the couple hours we had each evening before Joshua went to bed.

Our hotel downtown was right next to this China Town entrance.

Aquarium by Fishermans Wharf

Joshua's first hamburger...and a big one at that! He liked it of course. He's our "little carnivore".

We met Good Ole Abe...

Took a look at Alcatraz (although we never had the time to go over)...

Had some yummy chocolate and ice cream at Ghirardelli Square...

Walked all the way over to the Golden Gate Bridge from downtown in the RAIN...

After which Joshua was really exhausted.

It was a fun week!

You should have gone to see Diana! (Or maybe you did.) They live right in the city and she misses all her UT friends. Maybe next time . . .

That looks so fun! I want to go somewhere now. I think I am stuck for a bit.

I have about two feet of new snow on the ground so far today. Ugh.

I know, the praying about my placenta is so funny. It did all start with it being too close to the cervix. Before family prayers, we ask each person if there are any special blessings they need and we prayed about that for a long time. He still does it, and I think, "You have no idea what a placenta even is!" lol

Our area is really nice...except for spring. Spring is admittedly not so fun for me. But the summers do make up for it. You can actually go outside in the summer, even in the middle of the day, and not die of heat exhaustion ;) So that is a benefit. I just have to push through the "spring" (or lack thereof).

Wow, what a fun trip, and it sounds like you did it on a whim! I wish Jesse's schedule were that flexible...

Wow, I wish Emily was as good as Joshua on airplanes. It looks like a really fun trip - that aquarium tunnel is really cool. And you look a lot like Ruth in that picture. I love how the hamburger is as big as Joshua's head. I'm sure he loved that too.
