Remembering on Memorial Day

Although my mom didn't die in a war, like many families, we visit her gravestone on Memorial Day. The flowers on her gravestone are from one of the gardens she planted around my family's home growing up. It's amazing how much I miss her. She is always in my thoughts.

My little nephew also has a gravestone in the same cemetery in the infant section. The white flower blossoms you can see on one of the closer gravestones in the picture are from one of my mom's favorite trees at my parent's house. Notice how there is a cup with flowers in it on every infant gravestone. Someone comes around each Memorial Day and places these.

I miss your mom too and think of her often.

Whenever I run in the cemetery by my house, I also notice all the baby/children graves. They make me cry every time I pass.

Your fam has been through a lot! I bet it is hard for you to enjoy holidays like Memorial Day. We used to visit my grandparents' graves on Memorial Day and I miss that tradition now that we can't do it. We did go to a parade in the neighboring community and it was really nice.
