First time by myself with two kids - July 4 parade

I took Joshua and Jacob to the 4th of July parade on the 5th (haha, that's Utah for you:) It was a bit nerve racking for me to leave the house with a 2 year old and 3 week old since James had to work, but I did it and came back home in one piece. Jacob even fell asleep in the car seat on the way to the parade which was a first for him. Joshua had tons of fun and spent much of his time sitting on my shoulders so he could actually see the parade.

Surprisingly, one of his favorite parts was the group of fiddlers. He had fun tapping his foot (which he is trying to do in the above photo) and clapping his hands with the crowd.

And here's an additional photo of joshua's blue eyes, just bc I think they are awesome!

You know you're a mom with young children...

You know you're a mom with young children when the song you can't get out of your head is Elmo's World, Signing Time, Word World or Abby's Flying Fairy School.

Baby Jane (3 months late)

My brother Sam recently had a baby. Well, his wife did at least:) This is baby number 2 this year in my maiden family (I'm not sure how I say that). Baby number one my sister in law decided to keep quiet about until she was like 7 months pregnant! She was able to do that since she lives in Florida. Anywho, here is baby Jane and baby Jacob.
And here's Baby Jane with his mom and dad. Joshua decided to jump in the photo. He is wearing his Lightning McQueen hat of course. Always something Cars...

Jacob's First Smiles

Little Jacob started to smile a few days ago. I wasn't sure if he was smiling at first or just had gas since he is only 3 weeks old, but after much testing today he is definitely smiling on purpose. So fun! I love it when babies start to respond! Hopefully I'll be able to catch one of his smiles on camera soon.

Mei Tai Carrier

My sister Sharon is due with a baby in a few months (that makes 4 new babies this year in my family...that's what happens when you have a big family!) and decided to make a mei tai carrier. Lucky for me she decided that I deserved one too! The carrier is way impressive. It must have taken her forever. It is very nicely padded and even has a hood. Thanks Sharon! She also took the photos of Jacob in the last post so thanks again!

I've used other carriers before but never a mei tai so I'm excited to use it with Jacob when he gets a bit older. For right now he definitely prefers a wrap.
