All hail to the napper!

Guess who just woke up from a 4 hour nap after spending the morning at thanksgiving point farm country?

Mommy, who has been up since 5 am, thanks you!

Why don't friends with kids have time?

Love this response, it really made me laugh.

Here are a few random photos of Joshua who is 2.5 years old. First off, here he is inside the stroller basket.

We got Joshua a glider bike right after Jacob was born. He's not exactly what I would call an expert with it, but he's learning.

Every so often Joshua remembers that he has two holes in his nose. After several minutes of play he usually becomes side tracked by a toy and forgets about his interesting nose for a few months. He's a funny little guy.

Joshua and his cousin Alex love to play in the water together. Well, Joshua usually starts off scared, but eventually Alex is able to coax him into the water.

Rowell Family Reunion

James' family had a reunion up at Aspen Grove for a week in July. His parents have been saving and planning for this for years and now I can see why they were so excited about it. Not only is there free day care for kids for much of the day (in which they do fun activities the whole time), but there is swimming, tennis, golf, 3 buffet meals a day, crafts, pottery, baseball, nightly activities, high ropes course, rock climbing, fishing, paint ball etc. See, an amazing place.

I didn't get to do tons because Jacob was only 5 weeks old which was kind of sad at times as I watched from the sidelines while everyone else was doing stuff, but that's ok. It's worth it to have my little boy! He did amazingly well. He was rarely fussy even though he napped about 1/4 as much as usual. He spent most of his time during the day in the mei tai Sharon made me. I am so glad I had the baby carrier to hold him in all day long instead of my arms--that would make for really tired arms! I'm not sure I would have been able to use my arms again if I had held him for 16 hours a day for a week!

They had a "pioneer village" for kids to play on. It had a bunch of play stores in it and a life size horse to sit on among other things.

The little boy cousins had fun playing cars together.

Thirty of us stayed in this cabin together. It was ever so slightly crowded.

We realized that Joshua was outgrowing his play pen.

Look at how excited Joshua is to be in the drivers seat! You can't fully see his facial expression, but trust me when I say that it is pretty dang enthusiastic.

I got a big bruise from playing paintball. This picture doesn't do my pain justice.

And James and I had fun on the high ropes course. I realized at this time that I have embarrassingly weak arms. I also realized that I am not in the least bit scared of heights. The second of these realizations helped me feel better about the first :)

Jacob at 2 months - Beware, you may get jealous!

Weight: 14 lb 6oz (96%tile)
Length: 24.8 in (96 %tile)
Head Circumference: 16 in (68%tile)
Jacob is as sweet as ever. He's growing like crazy just like his older brother did. Obviously I have some very fatty milk!
Here's the part you might get jealous about. Jacob usually sleep a straight 8-11 hours a night now. He slept 8 hours for the first time when he was 5 weeks old and has been progressively sleeping longer and more consistently since. I know, I'm so lucky!

I finally got to posting some pictures of Jacob smiling. He's exactly 5 weeks here. He is such a sweet and happy baby. He smiles most of the day (not including the 7 or so hours he's sleeping) and almost never cries or fusses. He has recently started to do what I like to call body smiles - his whole body gets excited when he smiles. So cute. We're so lucky to have him in our family!

Best Idea Ever.

Remember how I made all those frozen meals for after I had the baby? Well, doing that has been one of the best things I have ever done! It takes me 5-15 minutes to get dinner ready every night and we have a nice home made meals instead of who knows what else I would be making right now! Plus, I don't have to worry about going shopping for ingredients constantly so it saves shopping time too. SERIOUSLY AWESOME.
